What is your favourite guitar/keyboard/trumpet etc. solo?
Mine is:

Beatles- For no one. The trumpet solo is simply just perfect.

Pink Floyd- Another Brick in the wall part 2. One of the most memorable solos in the world.

Supertramp-Another man's woman. Rick Davies is very talented!

Tom Waits- Make it rain. So cool.

Miles Davis- So What.

Miles is Brilliant. So What is amazing stuff..
are we talking THE VERY BEST solo of each category?
see- I would have a tough time narrowing it down to only one song for each.

Guitar - "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd - the version on the Pulse DVD.

Drum - probably "Moby Dick" by Led Zeppelin or "YYZ" by Rush.

I was just thinking of great solos generally, but now I can see that it might be too wide. I have now narrowed it down to instruments. And feel free to add than one solo to each instrument.

Guitar: Pink Floyd: David Gilmour: Another brick in the wall part 2.

Piano/keyboard/organ: Supertramp: Rick Davies. Another mans woman.

Drums: Beatles: Ringo Starr. The End. -I have actually not heard that many drum solos, but I think this solo is so.. funny in a sort of way.

Bass: Free: Simon Kirke: Mr. Big. -This is also in fact the only bass solo I have ever heard in a rock song..

Brass(Trumpet, Saxophone etc.): Miles Davis: So What.
