Check out this guys new CD, Carry On.

Whether you enjoy hard rock, soft ballads, country flavor, or pop, this CD will have something for you.

It is definitely on the soundtrack to my life.

I've always loved Cornell's voice, it's amazing. But IMO the Audioslave album I got didn't flow well or something. His voice wasn't featured or challenged much, and the melodies often left me hanging. Hopefully it was just because of the different style of the band and not because Cornell is unable to hit the notes that made him so famous, but I'll give this album the chance to hand down a verdict, for myself anyway.

It's interesting to hear he'll be covering different genres. That's always something I considered if I ever recorded an album, and you don't see it much at all in the mainstream music business. So I'm curious as to how it will be received.

Thanks for the post, and welcome to KMA!

I love his new cd, Carry On! It gets better and better the more I listen to it and is on its way to being one of my favorites. It's different than anything he's done, which is refreshing. It's still Chris Cornell though...creative lyrics, great music, amazing voice! I think it shows his maturity personally and as an artist. The album has something for everyone and would fit in with any collection, regardless of your main music taste. He's also great live!

IMO Audioslave was an incredible band. It was the perfect fusion of RATM and Soundgarden. It's a shame that they broke up. I hope Cornell's solo stuff is as good, I havent had a chance to listen to his new album yet.

I personally feel that Cornell can do no wrong, vocally. Soundgarden and Audioslave were both carried by his singing. Granted, the music in Audioslave was fantastic, but it would've just been Rage without Cornell.

Chris Cornell's vocals have carried every project he has worked on. I hope his solo career does well, but I'd love to see him also reunite with Soundgarden or Temple of the Dog again. Audioslave was alright. I love the Badmotorfinger album the best of anything he put out.
