I know, I wrote a thread like this not long ago, but it has disappeared.
So I'll write it again.Embedding Youtube videos is a way to allow members to view Youtube videos in site. It's like a very fancy link. Let's say, for some reason, you want to show everybody the Airplane! trailer that's on Youtube. You could post the link http://youtube.com/watch?v=q3rXK7NhWN8, but instead, you want to make it more convenient for everybody. So what do you do? Embed! Notice that in your link there is an "=" followed by some letters and numbers. Copy those letters and numbers and paste them between tags. Like this: That will allow the video to be viewed in the post rather than offsite. Note: You're pasting part of the URL between the youtube tags - you're not using Youtube's HTML embed code. If you use that, it won't work. Also, you're only using a specific part of the URL, not the whole thing. |

I'm kinda glad you posted this here, trying it out. Bumping this thread sure doesn't hurt, and anyone is welcome to try out embedding youtube vids here.
So to others who are new here, feel free to try it here in this thread. ![]()
