One of my New Year's resolutions this year is to learn how to sing. A friend of mine is a singer/musician and she teaches voice and all manner of instruments. I have my first voice lesson with her tomorrow. I'm the type of person who has never sung in front of anyone before--I only sing when I'm alone in the car or while home alone cleaning the house while listening to music. I see singing as having many benefits: breath control (I have asthma), empowerment, and stress relief. But I'm also convinced that I don't have a nice singing voice. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Is there anyone else here who's just learning like me? And you experienced singers out there, what do you enjoy most about singing?
