Anyone one read, or heard of the heroin diaries? Its a book i picked up not to long ago and its touched me. Here's a blurb about it, its a great read, and the soundtrack is amazing also.

"The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star is a book co-written by Nikki Sixx, bassist of the heavy metal bands Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. The book is a 432-page collection of diary entries written between Christmas of 1986 and Christmas of 1987. The Diaries chronicle Sixx's wild lifestyle, drug addiction, descent into paranoia and depression, and his subsequent recovery. Additional reflections by Sixx and others are interspersed throughout the book. The book also includes many black-and-white photographs, lyrics, random thoughts and artwork.

At Borders book store in Los Angeles, the book sold out on the day it was released. This was partially because Sixx was signing copies of the book at the store. In a remarkable and possibly unique piece of marketing, Sixx's band Sixx: A.M. recorded The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, an album of music inspired by the Diaries.

25% of the profits from sales of the book will be donated to 'Running Wild In The Night', a charity initiative for abused and abandoned children."

I've heard about it. I saw it in a book store once and wanted to read it, but I didn't have any time to read it there or any money to buy it. Thanks for the reivew, though. I'll be keeping my eye out for it more, now.

I thought about it, but didn't get out to the bookstore to get a copy because traffic on that side of town's a pain. I saw Tommy Lee's autobiagraphy (can't remember the name of it) a couple months ago at a book fair for 50 cents..but upon flipping through I saw that it was about 35 cents overpriced..
he just seemed to ramble on and on about how great he is.
Sixx is an inspiring musician. I've always liked him- seems like a genuine guy and a nice guy as well (now even more since he's sobered up). I read an interview with him and Slash in a guitar mag last month where they talk about the wild days of their past- the road to sobriety and some crazy stuff that makes me swear that I will never get drunk if I tour with some of these bands..LOL.
