Has anybody here heard of Iron Horse? They are a...rather interesting bluegrass band I've recently discovered. It started something like this:

I was hanging out at my friend Joe's house when his randomized music player thingy switched to a catchy bluegrass song. I was sitting there enjoying it when I reached a startling conclusion. "Wait a minute." I thought, "This is "One" by Metallica!" Joe then informed me of a free music download service available to WSU students. I immediately downloaded all of the Iron Horse material they had, including two Metallica cover albums, a Led Zeppelin one, and a Black Label Society one. They are really a great group and I must recommend them to you all.

I wonder if that free music downloading service available to WSU students is the same one available to Gonzaga students...

A bluegrass cover band, eh? It might be cool just for laughs (not being a big bluegrass fan myself). I bet "One" is a good cover, though. That song is just good no matter what genre it's in. It's like transgenred.

The funny thing is, both "One" and "Fade to Black" are both very sad songs, but they come out amazingly happy when you throw a banjo and mandolin into the mix.

If you want to check if you get the same service as I do, go to www.ruckus.com.

have yet to hear of them- sounds like a great band! I have 3 cds by Hayseed Dixie- they did bluegrass AC/DC, bluegrass KISS and one of classic rock tunes -all done hee-haw bluegrass.. (which really made me laugh when I said..hey wait a sec..is that Spinal Tap's song "Big Bottom" done on a banjo?)
if these guys are doing bluegrass metal.. hell..I'll have to check them out..
of course..I'm too old to be student anywhere nowadays.. damn.. can't get anything for free anymore.. chuckle..

Yep, 'tis the one.

One is on YouTube. I just hate bluegrass vox. That's all there is to it, really.
