Bingo. Although, given the demand, if MusicMan still has the files he might reupload them if we're lucky. Welcome to KMA folks!

Due to overwhelming new demand lol...I've reposted two of the tracks and will post the other two by tomorrow. Also attachments are now set so that only members can download them. 25,000 uniques today alone has made this necessary, and when this mad rush of traffic stops it will probably be set back to normal, but for now I have to do it so that we don't melt our server.

These are truly amazing (especially the first.) I really must hear optimistic! Optimistic is my favorite track from the album. Great work, however!!

Wow,

MusicMan I have to say, I am a HUGE Radiohead fan. I own all of their albums of course, as well as a number of EPs and Singles. I love this band, and am always eager to eat up anything new they dish out. I have heard some "Kid 17" mixes before, and never thought much of them, as the synching always seemed to be slightly off, and the music just didn't seem to gel like it was supposed to.

I just listened to your mix of Track 2, Kid A, and it was unreal. I love the song as it is, but your mix is amazing. The synching is perfect, and the richness of the music is astounding. Thank you for posting these, and congrats on your efforts.

I see that you have done four tracks in all from the album, and am going to be listenig to all of them right now if possible.

I REALLY hope that for some reason you decide to mix the other 6 songs from the album, especially Ideoteque.

Either way, I had to say great job, and thanks for your efforts. I will be sharing these tracks with all my Radiohead fan friends. If you do happen to mix the other tracks, please post them!

-A very impressed Radiohead fan.

Awesome. Nice find.

Thom Yorke (lead singer of Radiohead) announced that it was intentional, and a few people have created accurate mixes that line up perfectly. I am in the process of creating my own mix because some of the ones out there are close but not exactly 17 seconds. And if it's not exact, you lose a lot of the syncopation. So if anyone else would like to hear this let me know and I'll either PM you or if enough people want it I may just post it for everyone to see.

Update:

Here are individual tracks of the mixes I've created. The original is on one channel and the delayed version is on the opposite channel (left and right). So you can pan your balance to adjust the mix even more on your own. I'll add the new mixes to this post as they roll in hot off of the audio editing software.

EDIT (8-28-07): Wow, 25,000+ uniques and a million hits in the past 24 hours, mainly because of a link to this thread from a popular link site. The links were lost a while back but I'm now uploading these again as attachments, which only members will be able to stream or download. So if you're a guest and you really want to hear them, register real quick and we would love you to stick around and comment on them or contribute to the many great discussions we have here at KMA. If someone wants to host them offsite for others to listen to that don't feel like joining here (it's free, but some people are lazy ), send me a PM and I may or may not give you permission to. Thank you for your interest in my remixes, check the links in my sig for others I've done as well as some original songs.

I've got two up now, I'll add the other two by tomorrow.

I'm listening to Track one now and all I can say is "wow!". If it is not deliberate, it's the freakiest thing ever. And if it is, what a mind Thom Yorke has!

Thank you very much for your comments, this is making my day a much better one. It's great to hear that other people enjoy this as much as I enjoyed doing it. I've got a few ideas at the moment to improve in coming efforts and I look forward to trying out some new things that will make the mixes even better.

I'm uploading the other two tracks now and might work on doing more of these soon, who knows I might have the whole album done in a week if it holds my interest. So keep an eye out if you've requested something or would like to hear other songs done, I'll most likely be releasing more in the coming days.

i've been trying some other ones using itunes and quicktime to play 2 versions of the files. something around 17 sec for How to Disappear sounds cool, though this one is fun to play around with using different times. Morning Bell sounds great at 21 sec, and Idioteque sounds ok at 21 as well. This is too much fun. i need to go to bed now. can't wait to hear a good mix of these. thanks again music man.

You have to try this... Play Everything In It's Right Place... then 17 seconds in play Kid A.

It works just as good as the other mixes if not better!

Like a lot of others, I found this forum on a news aggregator, so I joined just to listen to Musicman's Kid A mix.

Having listened to all four now, I have to say I'm impressed, and not a little freaked out. Number 2 is my favorite by far ... I think 'Optimistic' doubled wound up just a little too densely packed, you know what I mean? Anyway, thanks, Musicman!

Thanks, and I do agree about optimistic being too busy. And listening to it again today gave me an idea. I think I may spend more time on future efforts to use eq settings on the overdubs if necessary to thin it out a little. I don't know why I didn't think of that before, but I know I'll need to on tracks where the beats are strong like Idioteque because doubled beats can get too loud or even distorted, and I think it will help on others too. Optimistic is a good example where non-beat elements kinda blur into one another and I think eq'ing might help. Thanks for the feedback

Not to sound redundant, but it's a cool find, very interesting. I found this forum off of reddit.com, and I had to sign up to download the mixes, and it was totally worth it. You are the sofa king!
