Hey everyone!
I´m just back from Spain!!! I was there to see Lordi!
Some of you might know that the band had to cancel the Spain part of their "Bringing Back The Balls To Europe Tour" in autumn last year. These gigs have been repeated at the beginning of march. And some crazy fans - me among them - decided to travel over to Madrid to see the montsers opn stage again.

The Raging Hounds Return - Bringing Back The Hell To Spain

I really can´t remember anymore when the idea was born to go to one of the gigs of the "Bringing Back The Balls To Europe - Tour" that should be repeated in Spain. But suddenly there were some crazy monster maniacs that decided to go to Madrid and conquering Spain. What I can remember is the fact that 4 months before the gig we complained that it is such a long time for the event to take place. We couldn´t wait longer. We wanted to go that gig - NOW! Haha, but the first problem apeared very soon. There was only one ticket agency that sold the tickets for the Lordi gig and unfortunately they didn´t understand one single word in English. After many phone calls they managed to get a person that was able to speak English...his name was horrible..can´t remember it. He promised us to manage that ticket thing for us. And indeed, some days later he told us we have tickets now - for Eros Ramazzotti. Erm, okay...I won´t comment that. So we nearly gave up the trip, but then Anna managed to catch one of the agency people and finally we had our ticket reservation. Yay! Next problem was the flight...God! Give us a flight at the right time an date!!! And he did...we booked our flight to Madrid one month before the gig. Last thing to do was finding a hostel. And that should become really difficult. I spent over 2 days to find a free hostel. Whole Madrid seemed to be booked out. Shouldn´t they have left Madrid instead...I mean the monsters were coming, so why the hell do all people travel to Madrid then?! xD But in the end we also had a hostel...okay, I have to admit we had no idea where the hostel was located, but we decided to solve that problem when we arrive at the Barajas airport. Finally the gig came nearer and nearer. Antha came over to Germany one day before the gig and we had a funny afternoon with our costumes...At the next day our journey should start at half past 4 in the morning...erm, we did wake up when my mum called and told me that she and my dad will be here in 5 minutes to get us to the Munich airport. So we had exactly 5 minutes to get up and pack the last stuff into our suitcases. That was easier to say than to do as our suitcases have been almost filled by the costumes. But somehow we got everything into our suitcase and arrived at the airport at 6 in the morning. We felt a bit uncomfortable when everything at the check in was so easy and without any problems. We were not used to that. xD But eveything went allright and even that barrier thing at the airport did not peep when we went trough it. The flight was cool although we nearly overslept it all. We arrived at the airport at lunch time and got a taxi to our hostel. We checked in there fast and then prepared to drive to the center of Madrid somehow to search for Anna and her mum Pia. So we traveled by bus and I swear that was the coolest bus ride I ever had. xD I never before listened to a bus driver saying that many swear words in such a short time. And in Madrid there counts the rule "I´m a bus and I´m bigger as a car, so all cars have to get out of my way!" But finally we arrived safe at the Placa de Castilla and traveled further by the metro. And very soon we were near the hostel of Anna of Pia and only a little bit later we met the both them. (I´m so glad I had the chance to meet you two, Anna and Pia! You are definitely two of the greatest persons I ever met!) It did not take long to feel as if we knew each other for ages. xD We went to the Sala Heineken where the concert should take place. Later we split up as Pia wanted to try Tapas. Anna, Antha and me must have walked many miles trough Madrid. xD Talking and laughing, talking and laughing...xD Later that evening we did some pictures and people looked like "Omg, what are they doing"...(remember?! What do we hate about Spain? Tapas!!! And what do we love about Spain? Lorrrrrrrdi!) Oh and we had lots of fun with all the doves that have been around...Kita and Ox...xD
The next day we spent all together of course! As we did not have our tickets yet we went to Sala Heineken again as the ticket agency said that we shall get them at the venue. Bad if the venue is closed. So we took a metro and got to a big park in the centre of Madrid. We walked around and they had a pond with really fascinating carps...thanks to us all the carps and the ducks are named now. xD And they had turtles! We named them after the Lordi members as well. By the way...Antha nearly scared a dove to death! (Just kidding...it was already dead when we got there...) And then we started digging holes in the park...erm...no comment on that as well...xD And I learned a Swedish sentence, that I already forgot (sorry Anna! xD) Oh and we discovered funny mummy bananas...xD we thought of giving them as a present to Amen but we rejected that idea...xD In the early evening we returned to Sala Heineken and wiiii...we needed just ten minutes to find out that we waited in front of open doors...xD So we opened the door and walked in...and nobody cared...in fact there was nobody to care...xD So we started to sing a bit...("Help! I need somebody, help!"...remember Anna?!) And that worked...persons apeared out of the dark...xD That guy was probably a roadie from the AC/DC Tribute band and he told us that we will get the tickets the same day the concert takes place. Okay, another day to worry about the question if we will get the tickets or not. We spent the rest of the day to search a milk shake bar or something...ha! and we found one! And we found a nice shop selling lots of dragon and monster stuff whilst wandering around. xD
The next day we checked out at the hostel rather early and went to Anna and Pia. in their hostel room we all got ready for the gig. Hehe and Pia did Anna´s and my hair...I guess the hair spray bottle was empty after that?! And Pia did my face make up as well...by the way, I was not dressed up as OX...xD I was the Kalma´s monster sheep! (OX is my mum and Kita is my dad...xD) And then we were ready!!! Yay! Kalma and his two monster pets! xD We went to the Sala Heineken and on to way we got really really cool reactions by the people that passed by. xD They shouted Lordi and Hard Rock Hallelujah...xD And they took many photos of us. Every single reaction has been positive...that was a nice surprise. The most lovely one was the doorman of a hostel. I couldn´t help it and started laughing and suddenly he had to laugh back altough he should make a more serious face I guess and he did his thumbs up! xD When we arrived at the Sala Heineken Evilkris and Melting Darkness (now known as our mother Dave) already have been there. Hehe and lots of Lordi roadies wandered around at the location. I stopped counting how many of them took pics of us...in every version...single photos, group photos...xD It was quite funny, really! xD A bit later Amen and OX came over to talk a bit to us. At lunch time mother Dave brought us Patata Frita...xD (Thank you Dave for taking care of us...xD) Since that moment a new name for Antha was born..."Patata Frita Kalma from French Fries Hell"...xD We even invented rules for Patata Frita Kalma like "Patata Frita Kalma never goes to dentist" and "Patata Frita Kalma never brushes his hair". By the way...Anna and me found lots of things to do whilst waiting...xD We waved at the passing cars and sightseeing busses...loool...and I don´t know how many pics they took of us. The driver of a moped even stopped in the middle of the street to take a photo of us. xD Oh and we drove Antha nuts by poking the fake rivets at her trousers...xD In the afternoon Lokkie and another Spanish guy (sorry, I can´t remember your name) arrived. (nice to meet you two!) But the definitely coolest part of the afternoon was when a guy from the Spanish National police asked Antha for a photo...xD So, you see, our afternoon passed by very fast and we got more and more nervous cos noone did know how, when or where to get the tickets. At eight they opened the Sala Heineken - finally - and divided us into those that already had tickets and those that reserved their tickets. Maybe you can imagine that we all were a bit stressed and angry cos we queued up for 9 hours and then we got in almost as the last. Buuuut as we are monsters from the bottom of our hearts we were in the first row very very fast. (mental monster power or something...xD) Yay!!! The support band was okay for me. I have to admit that I didn´t like the singer´s voice too much. And then they started to play "God of Thunder" and Lorrrrrdi came on stage! Wiiiii! We stand right in front of OX and Kita! xD Good for Anna and me you see. We took lots of pics. Although the security guard told us that we are only allowed to take pics at the first songs when the photographers are in front of the stage, he didn´t care when we took pics during the whole gig. That was great! Awww and I could listen to Kita´s drum piece again! He was great! Unfortunately they could not use their pyros as the hall was much to small. But their performance was really really great! The funniest part was when Awa was alone on stage at the beginning of Hard Rock Hallelujah and suddenly disappeared behind her keyboards to get her camera and take a picture of all the fans. xD It was very cute tho. Ox and Amen threw lots of pleks to us. Thanks for that! Don´t know why Amen always used OX´ pleks and almost didn´t touch his own ones. The roadies had to give new pleks to OX three times. xD But every gig has an end - unfortunately. After the gig a photographer caught us to get a pic of us and him that will be published in the Spanish Rock Hard magazine. So watch out! Yay! And then the tour manager came like an angel from heaven (or is it hell?!) and gave us backstage passes. There were almost 30 people to get backstage and so we had to group ourselves. And although we have been nearly the last ones in the row Johanna waved us in as the second group. She can be very...erm...resolute when she wants something. xD "I wanna have those! NOW!" And although some other people were nearly in before us, she pushed them all back to get us in. xD The band members stand at the top of a stair and Antha, Anna and me were like "Oh nooo, please, no stairs! That can´t be true!" So we stand there and none of us had the intention to walk up these stairs. Mr.Lordi gave us a happy "Oh! The fanclub!!!" and told us not to be scared and I bet we all thought the same in that moment. ("We are not scared of you, we are scared of the stairs!") We even couldn´t be scared of them as we did not look much better. xD So we climbed that damn stairs. And it is no surprise that Anna quickly went over to OX (OX looked really lucky in that moment...xD) and I went over to Kita. Antha has been caught by Mr.Lordi. xD Lool, I have to admit that none of us did take care about Amen...xD Then we took looots of photos. Wiii and Kita did crawl me whilst that. xD That was so sweet. And then they asked us if we have anything for them to sign and I wanted my Amen drawing to be signed but Amen decided to keep it. xD Loool...he teased me and said "Who is that?!" and I said "Hey! That is unfair!" xD But they all said that they liked the drawing very much and Mr.Lordi even said that it was great and very well done! And he loved Antha´s costume! xD Antha asked Amen to wear the Finland hat so that we can take a photo of it and you can´t guess how fast he grabed it. ("Of course! That´s what I´m here for!"...xD) I bet he was happy, that someone recognized that he´s still there. Oh and then we already had to say goodbye and I got a big Kita hug and he said "Awwwwww"...xD And Pia kissed Amen. Gosh and Johanna did film every little detail of our being backstage and they even took pics with the band members cameras. xD I guess that is the first backstage photo with 8 monsters on it. We all were so happy after that! At our way back to the hostel where we wanted to change clothes we met lots of people on the streets (Madrid wakes up in the evening...). It was very funny as it was dark and 2 women really got scared when they walked and turned round and Antha was standing behind them. xD One of them jumped to the left side, the other to the right side. xD After changing clothes and spending more time together in the centre of Madrid we accompanied Anna back to the hostel and Antha and me went to Madrid - a bit planless maybe...loool - and searched for a night bus to bring us over to the the airport. In the meantime we have been chased by a man with a really huge water tube who cleaned the streets at three in the night and didn´t take care if he aims at people or not. After almost one and a half hours we finally found a bus that should drive to the airport...erm, no idea where exactly we have been when the bus driver told us that we should leave the bus as it was the final station...but it was definitely NOT the airport. xD So we had to take a taxi to go to the airport. When we arrived we were so tired that we just searched for a warm place and fell asleep for an hour and then it already was time to check in. Yay! And at lunch time we have been back at Germany! I overslept that flight too.. But even when we have been still in Madrid we decided to repeat such a crazy trip together with Anna (and hopefully Kristina and Dave as well?!) as soon as possible! Oh and at the very end of our trip we founded a new state...nooo comment on that as well. xD
