Does anybody here listen to Meshuggah? I've been getting into them ever since I got my latest issue of Bass Player magazine. It had an article on the insane rhythms they use in their songs. The trick was though, that what appeared to be a measure of 5/16, 5/16, and then 7/16, was really all just in 4/4.

Amazing.

And there I was wondering how Terry Pratchett had come up with that name - should have known he was borrowing it

Are they any good?

Well, meshuggah is Yiddish for crazy. They are pretty awesome. Nice heavy thrash with all sorts of crazy rhythms and stuff. The drumming is especially confusing.

They're aggressive and that's good enough for me, but the crazy tech metal stuff they do makes them even better.
