I just finished this track and I'm not sure what to call it yet. So for now I've deceptively called it "Happy Fun Land". It's actually a very dark piece, lots of creepy ambient and brutal beats. Tell me what you think and feel free to suggest a more fitting name.

EDIT: Reattached song 6-29-07

I feel like a very large group of fransiscan monks just tied me down to a table and then, with chainsaws, hacked apart my soul.

... good work. (it's not easy to record monks with chainsaws, you know )

Wow, I'm really liking all this dark ambient stuff coming from the members recently! This one is really quite freaky. Seriously, I'm wondering if I can finish listening to it.

EDIT: I'm not really sure I'm a fan of that new "eek" smily...

And when it gets to like 2:30 or somewhere around there it's really good.

And then at 4:00-ish when it gets all fast.

Maybe I should listen to the whole thing before posting, so I don't have to keep making all these edits.

LOL yeah, I'll replace that new eek smilie when I get a chance, it's kinda weak. Thanks for the feedback guys, especially your favorite parts. That 4:00-4:20 part was my favorite part too. It gave me chills the first time I heard it on headphones. Oh and overall, stuff like this that has a lot of depth sounds better on headphones IMO.

Is that so. I will definitely give that a try, then.

Lots of awesome depth to this one, very rich sound you've created here. I like the uncomfortable and those who seek to make it, so you've made a fan

Thanks for the mp3.

edit: forgot to mention, love the tibetan chant you've included, that's always nice.... Eerie and inhuman, love love to that

Nice. That's going on my iPod... the KMA album grows!

Mr Man, you must be the Mike Patten of DnB. Chainsaw effects and EVERYTHING... Loving the layering and depth too!

Btw, as I already said on LWS, I really like it. Very dark and ambient.. can easily be a very very good soundtrack for any game/movie, but the drums need some work. Good job overall.

Wow, thanks for all the comments, both positive and constructive criticism. I'm very new to electronic (this is only my second song) so I'm definitely looking to learn more and improve.

I listened to this the other day through my speakers. It certainly didn't show it's true, depth and character. So tonight I'm using my new headphones.................Boy Oh Boy........How long is it taking you to create these tunes, there is ssssssoooooo so much. All the little subtleties that really make the track ssooooo much better.
However it didn't scare me, it's like horror movies, they don't scare me either. I don't believe in hell, and real life is ssooo much more disturbed and twisted.
The tibetan monks remind me of meditation ........... mind you if you'd have put choiral piece in there I'd have peed my pants I think........lol
Is this piece your idea of hell ? Just wandering......

But back to the overall piece, great, great production cannot fault it in anyway. Even tho' there seems to be no overall rhythm carrying the song through when the D'n'B kicks in, it doesn't jar, with the flow, you've mixed it very well indeed. Certainly adds to the overall disconcerting feel to the tune. The atmosphere you've created is pretty awesome.

I'm glad you bumped this, since I've been meaning to listen to it through headphones, too. Very freaky. And very much better, too.

Just to let you know, if it were nighttime now, I probably wound't be able to finish it.

Thanks hermit, glad you and aqua heard it on headphones. This piece took me about 2 hours to put together. My idea behind it isn't so much my idea of what hell sounds like...but more of an interpretation of a more tangible realm. I picture it being the soundtrack to a few different situations but the two that really brought it about were...

1. Stumbling into a situation where you never expected to be and now you're suddenly contemplating your immediate fate, and perhaps the metaphysical transition you're about to face.

2. Personal hell inside your own mind. Just the unadultered agony of being consumed by your own disturbing thoughts. Perhaps the subject is actually sitting in a very peaceful environment, but no matter how serene their physical environment is, their thoughts make peace impossible.

So not so much about trying to portray the soundscape of what I imagine hell to be, but like you said...most likely worse than anything hell has in store for us even if it did exist.

That's how I picture it. It reminds me a bit of a vietnam vet thinking about his past.
