I know that's a very specific request, but do there exist any bands or songs that follow that sort of genre? I'm thinking of something like the acoustic music from Diablo 1 and 2 (like the Tristram theme)

Any suggestions? I'd be very ungrateful if any of you had anything similar.

I'll keep an ear for something, although I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I generally tend to like acoustic music, and dark music, too, so acoustic demonic music might actually be something I have.

I was about to recommend IMPALED NORTHERN MOONFOREST, but then I realized what you actually want. I can keep a lookout, but I can't think of anything right now.

Although the Diablo 1 Tristram music really set the game's mood nicely.

Sorry it took so long to reply, here's what I got so far:

Bohren & der Club of Gore
It's got a nice atmosphere. I like it.

Espers
I thought this had some very nice and interesting music. I love Dead Queen especially.

Imaginarium - Sounds from the Neverhood
Very strange but awesome album. A lot of the songs are really catchy - others are just plain weird. The lyrics are all gibberish but that adds to the whole thing.

You must listen to Klaymen's Theme

I also really like Everybody Way Oh! (for some reason)
hxxp://au.youtube.com/watch?v=dnvN_acWq8k

James Blackshaw
Quite good. I like this guy. A lot of his stuff is quite repetitive, but the key is not concentrating on it. You just have to let it flow as background music and it becomes awesome. I love "Sunshrine" and "Past Has Not Passed".

Nest
Very similar to Diablo music. Nowhere near as catchy, but it still has a similar effect.

Splint
Just coz.

Single songs:

Hollywood from Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines
hxxp://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff1DjB...eature=related
Awesome... and obscure. No idea who made it.

Sober cover by Staind
hxxp://au.youtube.com/watch?v=lmngKcVL368
Amazing song. The original song by Tool is also amazing, but I like both equally. For the sake of this thread, I've only mentioned the cover.

Wilderness from Diablo II
Rogue from Diablo II
Outtake 3 from Diablo II

I'm still open for suggestions and I will keep looking for more I can dig up.

This isn't really what you're looking for, but it might be worth looking into anyways. Check out Burzum's song "Rundgang um die transzendentale Säule der Singularität". It's also titled "Rundtgåing av den transcendentale egenhetens støtte" in the Norwegian release of Filosofem, so either name should get you the same song.

You can find it on youtube. It isn't acoustic, but it's a very dark and atmospheric instrumental. Pretty minimalistic, but it really sets the same mood well.
