Ok so a friend of mine from another forum, Will S. has something very funny going on right now. Long story short he recorded a short parody of death metal. It's like way over the top to not be believable as real. He's just an average guy that records music, not a whole band of satan worshipping demonspawns. So here's where the story takes a turn. He created a parody myspace that puts a face to this music, the face is a band of hardcore death metal freaks. And the hilarious thing is that people are totally buying it, despite the obvious parody factor.

So I had an idea...I think I'll record a death-metal parody that's even more over the top parody-wise. I think everyone should try this sometime, it's quite an amusing idea, and you could get some aggression and growling out while your at it. Hell, maybe if more people wanted to record something we could all colaborate or something.

So here is Will's song "Hammer of Satan", It's only a minute long or so, but it is 64 seconds of pure genius. Keep in mind that everything was done by Will at home, he's pretty talented to pull this off and make it sound so good without any help. :metal:

This was written, recorded and basically completely created in the span of about 2 hours.

I listen to a few bands that do a similar type of thing.

Best example is Faxed Head. The lead singer is actually a pretty well known comedian, and some other musicians are from semi-popular bands, but none of them will admit that they are in the band.

Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, Estradesphere and a few others have also dipped into this genre of comedy/parody/death medal, but Faxed Head is where it's at.

They even literally do a parody of Tupac's "California Love", and sing about tacos and stuff in this heavy death-rap voice. One of the greatest songs of all time.

I have some great recording equipment and I'm always up for parodying styles. I do it all the time!

I love the name. "Hammer of Satan" has a nice ring to it. Almost as cool as "Christ Punchers."

It's a shame his "drummer" is so "slow" on the double kicks.

It'll be a while before I get the time to do something like this, maybe a week or two. But if anyone else wants to try it, that would be great. If anyone needs anything mixed or parts added to it, let me know and I could take care of it for you.

This idea is funny as hell. Black/Death metal isn't my thing because of how hard it is to undertand, I like singing along. But I love the idea and I love the fact that people on MySpace are going for it!

Who knows, if I did like that music style I may have fallen for it myself!

What is the MySpace page? It would be excellent to see it. Just when you think you've seen it all... !!! And it does sound sweeeeet!
