May 16th of 2010 Dio died.

I personally didn't like most of his stuff, but I loved Rainbow.

RIP Dio.

I saw that headline last night but didn't read the story. What'd he die of?

Oh dear God No..Ronnie will be missed. ronnie James Dio had the most amazing voice in hard rock and metal- one that many had tried to copy -or at least had influenced. I knew Ronnie was batlling stomach cancer and that it was really starting to do him in -if you look at some of the more recent video stuff of him singing with Heaven N' Hell or Queensryche it looks like he might have been a bit slumped over -I had thought about this when I heard he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and thought he must have been in some pain but still managed to get on stage and belt it out.

Like SB said, it was stomach cancer. It surprises me though, he was making excellent progress, and then this happens.
