What do you think about Bruce Dickinson's solo work? I just downloaded his first solo album (Tatooed Millionare), and so far it's not too bad. Of course, the vocals are amazing, you can expect that much from him. The instrumental work is also very good, but, I don't know, it just doesn't sound like Iron Maiden.
Right now I can't give a real opinion, because I only just finished listening to the first song, so I'll make an opinion of it once I finish the album.

I haven't listened to them yet, but just remember, it's not SUPPOSED to sound like Iron Maiden. It's his own stuff. If he wanted it to sound like Iron Maiden he would have done it with Iron Maiden.

That being said, I can imagine it would be awesome, given that it IS Bruce Dickinson.

Heh, that's probably true, but in some of the songs it sounds extremely similar to Iron Maiden, as though he is trying to sound like them. I'm halfway through the album, and it is pretty damn good. The only thing I kind of don't like is that it like, focuses TOO much on Bruce's vocals. The guitar work and everything just seem pushed into the background, and you barely even notice them.

His albums are pretty good, but I keep expecting an awesome guitar solo and it never comes! I guess I am too used to him singing for IM! Definitely worth getting though.

Haha, same. He definatly takes a step back from the heavy metal that Maiden gives us.

his new album (tyranny of souls) starts off with a song that's heavier faster and crazier than any other iron maiden song ever recorded. it's fucking furious. so many awesome guitar parts and vocal work. The rest of the cd is mostly slower songs, some acoustic stuff where he sings regular, it doesn't even sound like him. it's something i would listen to.
