A call to all musicians, genre and style doesn't matter, let me introduce you to the 12 second project.
Me and my friend Dan have been boggling around with the idea of an experimental multiple collaboration between different artists, and have come up with the 12 Second Project. The 12 Second Project, or "A Televised Experience of Sound and Tumult" (AKA, A TEST) is a collaboration of artists, where each artist's part is a grand total of 12 seconds. Then after we've received all parts we will compile them into a big track and release them all under the name "A Televised Experience of Sound and Tumult". Every artist will of course be properly credited in the info. This will be publicly released for free on the internet as we don't feel we can take credit for other people's work and cash in for it. It will probably be released on my own label-in-progress, unnamed so far. The rules are pretty simple. *Your part must be a grand total of 12 seconds. *You must send your part to me on e-mail patrick.linnet[at]gmail[dot]com. *You can make as many parts as you like, as long as you don't expect them to be right after each other because that would be cheating. Anyone can join, the more the merrier. Anyone interested in this? |

That seems pretty cool. I have two questions, though. Can the people here who participate upload their tracks here, instead of emailing them; and will you be able to upload the finished track?
Also, what do you do if people play things in different keys? |

Also that's the beautiful part, it doesn't have to go together, it can start at a shitty electronic dance piece, switch to grindcore, to indie pop, to something completely different. |

Can I send you an .ogg file?
I have to warn you, though, I'm not very good at improvising, so this ended up being a 60bpm, all quarter note boring little ditty. ![]() Last edited by Aqualung : 07-28-2008 at 12:26 AM. |
