Do you like to help musicians reach their maximum potential? Of course you do!

So why not do both at the same time? The KMA Review Team will be a small group of members who's job it will be to listen to the music uploaded here in the Music Showcase, and critique the work that has been done. This way, the musicians will know what they did best and also what could use a bit more work. This way, they can specifically target those areas and create a masterpiece!

To join the KMA Review Team you don't need to understand any music theory or anything like that. All we ask is that you know what you like and can put your thoughts into somewhat coherent words. We're looking for people with all sorts of varied tastes, so whether you like smooth jazz or prefer the most brutal of black metal, you have something we here at KMA desire: an opinion. So as of now we're taking applications to join the official KMA review team.

You may be used to long dull applications that ask hundreds of specific little tidbits of information, but this one will be easy. After all, it only really has one question: Why would you be a good addition to the KMA review team?

Feel free to post your answers in this thread, and if you have any questions, feel free to post them here or PM MusicMan, Aqualung, or I.

Once again, thanks for making KMA a kicking rad community to be with.
In addition to what was cited in the original thread, we would like to clarify what the reviewer expectations are. Obviously everything Zephyr said is true - we're looking for motivated and dedicated people who can listen and comment on all the music uploaded to the MusicShowcase, but it goes deeper than that. As a reviewer, you'll be representing this site to all the members and potential members, so we want people who are willing to represent KMA and its rules and expectations to the fullest .

We also need people who are mature enough to provide thoughtful and objective criticism without bashing and without meaninglessness - we need reviewers who can review in a way that helpful, because it gives good criticism and yet doesn't tear down the musician's self-esteem. There are other responsibilties, as well. For this reason, we have a bit of a de facto age limit, set at 18. If you think you're mature enough to meet these requirements, though, and you're not 18, you can still apply - just let us know why you think you're mature enough to be an exception.

We want to make sure that we know the members of the review team before we accept them; for this reason, we would ask that people apply only after they have been here for more than a couple days, you know? It would be even better if you've shown a commitment to the purpose of KMA by reviewing a couple things already. If you've already reviewed some songs, please link us to them here so we can see them.

Anyway, as before, if you want to be a part of the review team, just post in this thread telling us why you think you would be a good candiate and linking us some posts you think are indicative of your level of discourse, and the staff team with discuss your application.

I don't know, but I could really use some help now. My school's network, filled with people trying to download anything and everything they can possibly get their hands on, has really poor download speeds. I mean, really poor. I ran a download speed test the other day and was getting speeds of 13kb/s. This means that unless I have time to listen to people's songs really early in the morning or really late at night, I probably won't be able to review them. I really would appreciate somebody here who would be willing to review all the songs and help me out in place of the help I can no longer offer consistently.

Hey guys, I've been here for about two days now. I've spent most of my time in the showcase section, reviewing artists.

As a writer and musician, I can see now that I'll be spending nearly all of my time on this site reviewing whether I'm on the review team or not.

Can't hurt to apply?

Cool. We'll take a look at your reviews and discuss your application. Also, I moved your posts to the updated thread.
