What was your very first Concert to go to ?
My first Concert was Humble Pie in the year 1970 -71, Humble Pie was a great band , But the back up band was better . ZZ Top was the back up for Humble Pie , and they played a hell of a Concert for a three man band . The price of a Concert ticket was cheap $8.00 - $ 12.00 |

Wow, GREAT Thread! Good thinking!
Speaking of thinking.. God, I'm feeling old now.. LOL. Humble Pie- man, that must have been a thing to see.. was Frampton still with them at that time? I'm REALLY reaching here, lot of concerts all in a short time.. think the first one was Aerosmith in Boston so being a homcoming show it was pretty amazing. HOWEVER, several "down" areas- I went with my parents. Now, Dad is completely cool but Mom ..how do you enjoy a song like "Big Ten Inch" with your mom sitting next to you.. it was awkward. trying to recall the year and my age but I do not remember exactly- I was somewhere between 11 and 14 at the time I suppose and it was during the period when Joe Perry had quit the band and the rest of the band was completely blitzed out of their minds. I think the opening band was Orion the Hunter which was a few of the guys from the band Boston- they had a hit..don't remember what it was. Now, I said I THINK because about the same time I saw the Joe Perry Project playing up in NH at this theater-(see where I am going with this- I was a big Aerosmith freak at the time) with just my friends all about 11-14 years old (we got dropped off) and the record store I bought my first Joe Perry album was across the street- as an odd side note about 2 years ago I went back to visit these old places and walked into that Same RECORD STORE (still standing) and bought the same Joe Perry album- now on cd..of course, it was in the "used" cd section now..that's just wrong.

My first concert was Bon Jovi and Cinderella. It was back in 1987 at the Myriad in Oklahoma City. It was a decent concert, I remember it being really loud, but after my ears adjusted I had a really good time.

I saw Victor Wooten in concert. Great show. It not only introduced me to bass music, but to jazz. I owe my taste in music to that concert and my father.

I remember one of the other shows when I was a kid being one of those monsters of rock concerts with Ratt, Twisted Sister, Lita Ford, Cheap Trick and probably a couple others I cannot recall.. I do recall having to practically hide behind an ice cream truck (it was outside at the fairgrounds) and only by hiding behind the truck did it make Ratt sound somewhat bearable at the time.. no offense to the ratt guys- might have just been a really bad mix

That's cool! Best? I don't know.. Rush and Mr. Big on the Presto tour would be a big one, The Firm which had Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers was an excellent one,Pink Floyd for division bell tour,Yngwie at a small club about 2 years ago, I must have seen Kiss about 17 times over the years and Aerosmith is another I've probably seen 8-9 times (seems somebody always had a ticket to those guys back then,) after a while it kind of blurs together all the good ones and bad ones. Thankfully some bands are coming out with DVDs capturing some of these years so I can relive the moments -even if the leather pants no longer fit..

Well best for me as Victor Wooten is my idol as a bass player.

I wonder if anyone even knows who this band is... Five Iron Frenzy. They were a ska band on Tooth and Nail back in the day. It was probably my first concert because they were playing at a church so my parents let me go, I can't lie it was some good memories.

David Bowie during the "Stage" tour. It was also the first time I had been in a large crowd of people smoking weed in public. It seemed like half of the people in attendance were smoking and passing joints around. The ticket price was $7.50 in US dollars and worth every penny!
